Pastor Michael Jones was saved at the age of six during a revival service at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Kentucky. Upon surrendering to the call to preach at the age of seventeen, he preached his first sermon in a local church two weeks later and has continued to preach since that time. In 2000, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Theology and a Master of Arts Degree in Ministry from The Crown College in Powell, Tennessee.

Pastor Jones served as Assistant Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon, Missouri, and later as Assistant Pastor at Marion Avenue Baptist Church, in Washington, Iowa. Under both Assistant Pastorate roles, he worked primarily with youth and teens.

Sensing God’s definite call to the Pastorate, in 2005, he was called to serve as Pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Under his leadership, Victory Baptist Church experienced enormous church growth and saw souls saved and baptized on a weekly basis.image

On August 11, 2013, the First Baptist Church of Long Beach voted with a 93% approval to call Michael Jones to be their pastor. It is our great honor to introduce Michael Jones as the twentieth pastor of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach, California. Pastor Jones and his wife, Mindy, have five children: Molly, Matthew, Macy, Merry, and Mark. We look forward to what God will do in the coming years under Pastor Jones’ leadership.
