The Bible Way to Heaven
If you died today, are you 100% sure you'd go to Heaven?
You can be sure. Understand and believe these truths from God's Word.
ALL MEN ARE SINNERS
Romans 3:10 - "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one."
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
The universal problem with man is that we have all sinned against God. "Sin" is anything we've done that God has told us not to do, or failing to do what He has commanded us to do. God is holy, meaning He is completely pure and there is no wrong in Him whatsoever. Because of our personal sin, we have a problem with God that cannot be ignored.
THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN
Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death..."
Because God is holy, He cannot allow sin to be in His presence. Because man is sinful, we cannot simply go to Heaven without dealing with our sin.
The Bible says "the wages of sin is death." A "wage" is something that we earn (when we work a job, we earn a 'wage' or payment). What we have "earned" because of our sin - is death. The penalty for sinning is death. This not only means a physical death, but an eternal death (Hell).
Romans 6:23 - "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
The penalty cannot be ignored by God, however, He provided a payment for our sin.
JESUS CHRIST PAID OUR PENALTY WHEN HE DIED ON THE CROSS
God does not wish for anyone to spend an eternity in Hell paying for their own sins. He loves us and wants us to be with Him in Heaven forever. He proved His love for us, and provided a payment for our sin in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:8 - "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
God provided a way for us to have eternal life with Him in Heaven. Jesus Christ, who is all God and all man - without sin, paid for our sins when He died on the cross. He died so that we do not have to suffer eternal death. He rose from the dead and lives that we can live forever in Heaven with Him.
But, just because God has provided a payment for our sins doesn't mean that we automatically go to Heaven when we die. We must make a personal decision to receive His gift of eternal life.
EVERY INDIVIDUAL MUST PERSONALLY RECEIVE THE GIFT OF HEAVEN
Like any gift, we have a simple choice to make - receive it or reject it. The gift is not free (its cost was great), however, it is offered freely to us. God tells us in His Word how to receive His gift of eternal life in Heaven.
Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
"Confess" means we agree with God on what He says about His Son, Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin (Mary), and because He had no earthly father, He had no sin. He lived a perfect, sinless life. He was crucified on a cross and left there to die. He was buried in a borrowed tomb. Three days later, He rose from the dead and He is alive forevermore.
Jesus raising from the dead is very important. God gave us a "receipt" when Jesus rose from the dead. A receipt is proof that a store accepted your payment for the items you purchased. The resurrection is God's proof to man that He accepted Jesus Christ's payment for our sins.
Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Going to Heaven is a matter of placing your complete dependence on Jesus Christ to take you there. Once an individual places their trust in His death, burial, and resurrection as payment for the sins they have committed, they can be assured of Heaven.
Our trust in Jesus Christ is expressed in a prayer of faith (total dependence).
Here is an example prayer (pray something like this):
If you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ alone to take you to Heaven, then God has (100%) given you eternal life.
1 John 5:12 - "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
This is the greatest thing you could know and it gives you greater purpose in life.
If you've made the decision to trust Jesus Christ alone to take you to Heaven, we would love to hear about it. Please contact us and tell us your story.
